In one evening, EUNIC Stockholm presents new and exciting texts from national literatures of nine countries: Austria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania and Slovakia. The successful concept which started in Prague in 2005 and has since spread into more than 20 countries worldwide, will thus be introduced in Sweden for the first time.
Actors from Malmö Stadsteater Fredrik Gunnarson, Mattias Linderoth, Cecilia Lindqvist and Karin Lithman will read texts written by Radka Denemarková (Czech Republic), Giulia Fazzi (Italy), Dea Loher (Germany), Tiago Patrício and André Oliveira (Portugal), Emmanuelle Pireyre (France), Angelika Reitzer (Austria), Milan Rúfus and Štefan Pecho (Slovakia), Varujan Vosganian (Romania) and Michał Witkowski (Poland). The evening will be led by Per Svensson, writer och journalist.
EUNIC Stockholm (European Union National Institutes for Culture) is a platform for collaboration between 16 European cultural institutes and embassies based in Sweden. Literature Night is the result of cooperation between Embassy of Austria, Czech centre, French Institute, Goethe-Institut, Italian Cultural Institute, Polish Institute, Embassy of Portugal and Institut Camões, Romanian Cultural Institute and Embassy of Slovakia.
