The highlighted cities are the main organizers of the project "European Literature Nights 2012 - 2014":

Literature Night takes place in Paris for the very first time. It is the initiative of the Czech Centre in Paris and the Forum of Foreign Cultural Institutes in Paris (FICEP). It aims to promote literary diversity through works of foreign authors, providing the audience with all kinds of literary works for all ages (poetry, prose, comic books, or children literature) in conjunction with fifteen different cultural centres in Paris.

Each participating institution will introduce one foreign author and his/her work recently translated into French. Local actors will perform selected extracts from the selected books, and every reading will be then followed by a discussion in order to enable the audience to interact with the authors.

You can roam around from reading to reading, from one place to another, discovering various literary works and their authors throughout the Literature Night.

Admission is free. Number of places available is limited.

Metro stations: Saint-Germain-des-Prés / Mabillon / Cluny-La Sorbonne / Saint-Sulpice / Sèvres Babylone / Rennes / Rue du Bac.

Readings begin every hour between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. with a break between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Each reading will last approximately 20 minutes, a 20-minute discussion with the author and performer will follow.
